Apparently, guys just don’t like breasts anymore. Go ahead, huff and puff all you want, but I’m calling bulls—t.
Why? First of all, there was Hooters Air. Admittedly, it wasn’t a well-run operation, but it had extra legroom at every seat, and featured Hooters Girls. Slinking up and down the narrow aisles of an airplane. Come on! Whatever, dudes — you failed them.
Now comes word that the subsequent brand-extension venture, Hooters Casino in Las Vegas, located at the old San Remo property on East Tropicana, is also on the chopping block. Travel Weekly reports that the owners have been more like the sellers, lately. Buyer came along with plans to scrap the Hooters motif and do something more boutique-y. (Sounds girly.)
It was almost curtains for the ol’ white and orange, except that it has just been announced that the buyer, a group that somehow is/was associated with Jason Pomeranc’s snoozer Thompson Hotels failed to meet a downpayment, resulting in automatic termination. (We love how final and deadly that sounds.)
So, for now, Hooters Casino lives. (Rates tonight from $34, no guff.) For how long, who can say. Then again, maybe it was a bad idea for Las Vegas that might pan out better elsewhere. After all, in Vegas, isn’t scantily clad sort of overdone already?
