So many things to do in the UK in 11 days… dont spend them all in London, get out to Windsor, Bath - down to Devon and go up onto the Moor… gorgeous and a nice country pub up there called the Old Inn in Widecombe. Amazing. Personally, I think the best of England is in the South, South West but then Newcastle is a different but amazing place with great people… so much to do so little time. Enjoy!.

Most of the online rail tickets sites charge for using your credit card (in recent months thetrainline.com also included a cheeky 50p charge for collecting your tickets at a fast ticket machine!). National Express East Coast do not charge for using a credit card, nor make any other surcharge. Additionally, they are giving 10% off advance tickets - if the tickets are more than three months away, you can register your interest in that date and NXEC mail you when they are available.
I’ve migrated from using thetrainline.com to NXEC - I should add I have no commerical in NXEC.

Hmmm… the Rennaisance period… that’s quite tough - I wouldn’t say there is that much you could see that is typically Renaissance in the UK…
But for your other comments, Canterbury would certainly fit the bill.
Other places you might think about could be a two-centre trip to Cambridge and Norwich. They are an easy train ride from London and have small city centres with plenty to see.
Cambridge’s obvious charms are the University and its colleges, as well as the lovely river walks (or even punting, if you are feeling brave). There are some beautiful small villages around Cambridge, such as Grantchester (which you can get to along the river), in very typically English countryside (called the Fens).
Norwich is a market town an hour or so north of Cambridge. It’s got a great local feel, good shops, some fantastic pubs (happy to make recommendations) and a huge cathedral. Also, you are near to the Norfolk Broads, which is a network of lakes and rivers that eventually reach the North Sea - really worth exploring by boat.

Hi
Yes indeed, there are two ways to get very cheap fares for the coaches across the UK.
One if ‘National Express FUn Fares’ (just do a search and you’ll easily find the page) and fares can cost from 1 a trip.
You can also try megabus.com (also megatrain.com).
Trains are more comfortable but there are some great deals for the coaches and the comfort fine, unless journey let’s sy is more than 4 hours..
