Egpyt is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to, so different from dull rainy UK, so much to see, eat and do..
Salam alaikum
i want to share with you a Damascus - Syria (and obviously Yemen!). In Damascus, you live in a complete linguistic immersion: you speak Arabic all day long. Syrian are not very strong in English speaking, so you might be lucky to be obliged to speak in every moment, situation, every place in the streets, city, shops, taxi …
Courses are great there, i recommend their official institutes and universities and a place called Arabesk Studies Damascus (i think their email is arabesk at mail.sy ). For girls, you can live in a female syrian family, where you can practise Arabic on everyday life basis and all situations, get to know the culutre and traditions, learn about Islam and many other things.
Hello All,
I am going next week to Jordan and Egypt for two weeks. We have some local currency but in a bid not to carry around lots of cash with me I was hoping to use ATMs. I am sure there are some in Amman, Dahab and Cairo, however I was wondering if anyone knew of their availablity around Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba?
Many thanks!
Bo x.
Hi everyone!
I’ve just come back on Tuesday from staying at the Laguna Vista beach resort in Sharm El Sheikh, and I can say that it is one of the best holidays I have ever been on.
I went with my parents, sister and little brother and there is definitely something for the whole family. There is always something to do in the evenings, with posters telling you what’s on during the week- I went to see some belly dancing on Monday evening an it was really fun! The facilities are excellent and if you like sports then there are tennis courts, volleyball nets on the beach and main pool etc.
I found the staff to be so lovely and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us. As for the weather, it is guaranteed to be sunny everyday which is a nice change from England! Going in April is like the height of August temperature wise so in July it will be extremely hot but just try to keep to the shade or take advantage of the many pools or sea to cool you down.
